"43 Minutes" is the fourteenth episode in second season of the CTV medical drama series Saving Hope. It aired on the thirtieth of January in 2014, and is the twenty-seventh episode overall.
Synopsis[]
As Alex leaves Hope Zion she becomes a witness to an accident that brings her back to the hospital.
Plot[]
Alex is a witness to a car accident as she’s leaving work in the parking garage. A man is trying to find his car and asks Alex for help. She thinks he’s being a little creepy as she’s trying to get home after a long day. He walks away while talking to her and a car hits him. She gets Zach, Maggie and Reycraft to come and help resuscitate the man, though they don’t know who he is as he didn’t have any identification on him.
Charlie talks to Gavin and tells him the medication he prescribed is working, but Gavin tells him that the medication is only half of the treatment, the other is talking.
The team is able to resuscitate the man but he is not out of the woods. He codes while trying to get a CT scan. Alex gives Jackson the keys to the man’s vehicle so they can try and figure out who he is. After getting his heart working again, they take him into the OR and Alex operates on him as he’s got fluid in his abdomen.
Dawn comes in to help with the operation and Alex is able to find the bleed. Jackson finds his car but no identification and a bottle of pills with no name. He finds out the patient has a kidney problem. He has hyperkalemia and the patient dies on the table with Alex trying to resuscitate him.
The medication Charlie is on makes him still see the ghosts but not as before and he can’t hear them.
After Alex leaves to go home she finds that she has a flat tire.
